5 Ways To Increase Your Profits With Mailing Lists
Do you have a mailing list? When was the last time you had a look at how profitable the list is for you and made sure everything was up to date?
You’re likely one of the many people who’ve set up their list, got busy, and then forgot about it for a while. There are many things you can do right now to start making more money with your mailing list.
1. List Checkup – Go through every single message you have in your autoresponder series. This may take you a while to get through if you have a lot of messages set up, but it’s worth it.
Recently I switched my website format over to a wordpress site and deleted a lot of the pages from the other design. I had my autoresponder setup to refer to articles on my older site and with the update these were out of date and needed fixing, so I had to go back in and change the links. If your series of messages are too long and it’s just too much to handle by yourself hire a VA to help.
2. Opt-in Location – Do people know about your list? Don’t assume everyone will find you because you have an opt-in box in one or two locations on your website.
When setting up your list and describing it you’ll want to make sure that you deliver exactly what you offer then and beyond. A bullet-point list works well to let people know what your list offers without requiring too much of their attention to get them to read.
Many people make their list stand out by offering up a free ebook or report for signing up to the list. Other ideas are offer up an audio or a video. Whatever you offer make sure it is of high valuable and something that makes signing up for your list irresistible.
3. Add landing pages – You should be using double opt-ins to make sure your list has really requested to sign up. After the initial sign-up you will be able to direct them to a landing page. Make sure that landing page they come to grabs their attention and tells them to confirm, you could use something like this:
IMPORTANT: Please check your email inbox and confirm your subscription so that we can send you the information you requested.
Use that landing page to make an offer on your own product or offer an affiliate product. Or if you have a service based-business and want them to get to know you better then direct them to your articles page.
Once they confirm in their email you will be given another opportunity to create a specific landing page. Use that page to make another offer, or lead them to your website to read more information or articles.
You’ve got people’s attention once they get to your landing page and they HAVE to go somewhere once they’re done – it might as well be somewhere you can suggest to them so that you benefit from it.
4. Promote – Think of the places where you promote your list. Is it just in one little box on your website? There are many other places that you should be using to promote your mailing list.
Write articles that you submit to directories that have a bio leading to your opt-in page.
Make a special offer in your signature on forums (if they allow it)
Add a signature to your emails that tells people why they need to sign up for your list
Blog about your list and why they should join it
5. Contact as often as possible – You’ve heard this before but it’s time for a reminder. If your prospects don’t hear from you on a regular basis then they will forget about you and why the signed up in the first place.
How often you contact them will depend on what your list is about but it’s often said that you must be making contact at least once a month if you want to be remembered. Many topics will require you to contact your list once a week and this is perfectly acceptable to them because they asked for this information.
5 Traffic Strategies Of Shawn Casey, Internet Marketer & Attorney
You do not have to be an expert webmaster or copywriter to drive traffic to your site or blog. Last night I logged into Success University and took a course on the subject of traffic with noted Internet marketer and attorney Shawn Casey. It was about a 35 minute audio presentation with the most important point being to simply take action.
I’ve often found myself in the “Paralysis by Analysis” boat so it was good to hear a message of avoiding it from a guy of his stature.
Strategy 1: Get Your Own Website
Casey said that you absolutely need your own website and that you will never get search engine optimization using generic affiliate sites. I agree with that and will add that it’s much easier to start and maintain a blog, but that’s my opinion. One thing he said that I found compelling was that you should never submit your site to search engines and that it actually works against your ranking. It is much better for their spiders to find you with updated content.
If you are not a webmaster or technically savy, you can do a search for hosting providers that have easy to use templates you can use to cut and past your way to a descent looking site. Once you find a hosting company you’ll need to purchase your domain name or URL if you haven’t already done so. If you haven’t, my suggestion on this is as follows:
*** If you’re hosting company sells domain names, keep it under the same roof and buy it (register it) with them. You can probably get it cheaper elsewhere but it is one less thing you have to deal with when you point your URL to your site.
Strategy 2: Keep Your Content Fresh
Search engine spiders like fresh content and on the Internet, content is king. In Shawn Casey’s explanation, he stresses that you do not need to be perfect; you need to be consistent. Write about things you’ve recently learned, what your thoughts are, anything, just do it and do it regularly.
If you don’t like to write at all, Casey suggests going to article directories to use other authors’ articles to put on your site as fresh content. You must, however, keep the author’s resource box in tact with the article when using their material.
Three of the more popular article directories are:
•isnare.com
•goarticles.com
•ezinearticles.com
There are hundreds of others smaller ones. If you are taking the blog approach, you will want to let the search engines know every time you update your site with fresh content with a process called “Pinging”. The easiest way to do this is to go to “pingomatic.com” , enter your URL and/or RSS feed link, and request pings. Within seconds, you get messages of which engines accepted your ping request.
Strategy 3 – Get Links Back to Your Site (Reciprocal Linking)
Casey, and many other successful marketers, contend that in order to get top search engine ranking, you need other websites out there linking back to yours. The more websites linking to your website, the higher your raking will be. He says that you can do this manually but it would take a lot of time and work.
Instead, he recommends using Link Metro by Brad Callen. (As I write this, it’s Father’s Day and I remember getting a notice recently that Brad just became a father so props to him and all the others out there!) With an advanced membership which is only $20 a month, you can completely automate and monitor your link building efforts. I can’t expound on it because I just learned about it last night from Shawn Casey, but I will say I’ve used other products from Brad Callen and have found them to be useful so I will give this a try and let you know how it goes later on my work at home weblog nathangurley.com. Shawn Casey endorses it wholeheartedly and there are countless other believable testimonials on there so I’ll give it a shot soon.
Strategy 4 – Press Releases
Another strategy Shawn Casey discusses on his Success University course is the use of press releases. Again he stresses that it doesn’t have to be perfect or a literary masterpiece. Just write the thing and get it out there with links back to your site. Like strategy three he says there are free to submit to press release sites but doesn’t necessarily regard them highly. Here he recommends PRWeb.com where the PR is short for,you guessed it, press release. With the increasing number of people getting their news from the web and avoiding traditional forms of media (probably because they are so biased), news distribution on the web is firmly planted and the search engines are not only part of it, they are competing to get it in front of you and people with news are competing to get it on the search engines so it should be a healthy market for years to come.
Strategy 5 – Article Marketing
In Strategy 2, Casey discussed getting fresh content from articles directories. You can be on the reverse side of that and get reciprocal links using a technique known as Article Marketing. Instead of going to these directories to get content, Casey suggests writing content and submitting them yourself. What happens is, you become the author and the expert and your links are in your author reference box pointing back to your site. Once your article is accepted, you get instant credibility and links back to your site. If others like what you wrote and put your article on their site you get more links back. It’s almost like creating viral traffic.
For those who still do not want to write, Casey suggests going to elance.com where he says you can hire people to write articles for you. Either way, the reputable directories do not like self-promotion and affiliate links and such in your articles. They want information that others will find useful and will reject your submissions if you are merely trying to promote yourself.
Simply write useful information that people can use and use the strategies discussed by Sean Casey and you will get traffic.
5 Tips To Know If You Have What It Takes To Start A Home Based Business
You may see, hear, and read a lot of people constantly raving about the numerous wonders of a home based business but in reality, starting and managing one isn’t immediately a bed of roses. In some cases, having a home based business is easier than having a business in traditional settings, but in some cases, it’s absolutely the other way around.
Tip #1 You Still Need the M’s for a Home Based Business
The only difference is that there’s no need for you to pay for rent and possibly, you’ll have lower business costs because your business is based at home. But other than that, the process of starting up and the necessary factors of production are still the same.
Money – It’s rarely possible, if at all, to start a home based business without spending even a dollar for investment and pre-operating costs.
Material – If your home based business is selling products and not services then you’ll still have to ensure that you’ve got the best materials to produce the best products in the market.
Manpower – For a home based business, you can usually make use of family members – even your kids – to help out and provide the necessary labor for the business.
Machinery – Usually, a home based business selling services online can function with a computer and Internet access, but if you’re selling products, you’ll naturally need other additional equipment.
Tip #2 You Still Need to Register Your Home Based Business
The fact that you have a business based or you’re working from home doesn’t exempt you from your obligation to pay taxes. You can, however, apply for tax deductions that you may be eligible for due to your home based business.
To qualify for tax deductions, you need to prove that one part of your home is indeed used primarily and exclusively for operating your business. Secondly, if ever personal meetings with your clients, suppliers, and affiliates are required, you use that particular section of your home for such purposes.
Tip #3 Products, Services, or Both?
A home based business may sell products, services, or both. The success of your home based business definitely depends on how marketable your products or services are. Consider the following factors:
Quality – How does the quality of your products or services fare compared to those manufactured or provided by your competitors?
Cost – How much are you selling them for? Since you’re operating a home-based business, you should take advantage of your situation and use it to lower the price of whatever you’re selling. Lowering your price is something you can afford to do because you have lower costs, and it will at the same time allow you to compete against bigger retailers on the same ground.
Tip #4 Online, Offline, or Both?
The success of your home based business will also depend on how you should to advertise about your business. If, for instance, you’re selling home baked cookies, you’ll probably achieve greater profit by focusing mostly on selling to your neighbors and acquaintances in the area then advertising online on the sides. Setting up a home based web designing business on the other hand would certainly benefit more from online advertising.
Tip #5 Are You Good at Waiting?
A home based business will also take time to prove its profitability and stability. Thus, make sure that you’re willing to wait for your business to grow. There are any number of hurdles that your home based business might face in the future but you need to be prepared to face all of them if you wish to succeed.
5 Tips For Purchasing All Weather Contract Restaurant Chairs
If you are trying to furnish your outside eating area there are several things that you can consider. When buying furniture for a outdoor area there are some major differences from furnishing the inside eating areas, which makes it a very unique challenge for some cafe owners to locate the best pieces of furniture. Follow these pieces of advice and your outside dining area will look fabulous, and you will quickly create a professional look and feel.
Tip 1. Firstly you have to determine how big the outside area will be. You have to measure both the width and length. You need these figures for several reasons, including determining how many tables and chairs that will be the perfect fit your outdoor area. If you want to use only chairs to go with the tables, then you will need only tables and chairs. If you need to have a bar as well, you will need to plan for a place for your bar stools, tables and possibly poseur high tables.
Tip 2. As soon as you are thinking about your furniture for outside an ideal option is outdoor contract aluminium seating. This type of seating is specifically made for outdoors and they are very hard wearing, plus they are made for contract use so you can be sure they will last years and years. You don’t want to buy cheap, unsafe chairs that will fall apart continuously. Cheap chairs are prone to rust and will normally need continuous repairs, which will overtime make them very costly. It is very important to Select a company to deal with that has great customer service as well as great high quality products. Some of the best contract patio furniture that is ideal for outside use comes from Milan in Italy, so it is a great idea to ask the company exactly where the chairs comes from. When deciding upon outside furniture a bad company can cost you lots of extra cash in wasted, broken pieces of furniture that are of far inferior quality.
Tip 3. As aluminium tables and chairs does not tend to be very easy to move around, you can consider purchasing some swiveling chairs and bar stools in order to make it quicker for the diners to get in and out. It can also be much more comfortable because chairs and stools can simply rotate easily, compared to needing to be lifted up and moved around. This is just a small thing that your customers will notice and always appreciate. It is important to consider that the experience is something that your customers will remember as they are deciding where to eat. The last thing you want is to be avoided simply because of difficulties with the furnishings – that’s never a good sign; you should make the furnishings as quick to move around as possible to help the customers.
Tip 4. You may want to think about matching your indoor furniture with the outdoor furniture by choosing aluminium furniture with wooden highlights. If you decide to choosing the same color and style of wood it would create a very natural flow through one area of the restaurant to the other. Some restaurant operators will consider this and opt to follow this method because it can greatly improve the total look of the entire establishment. While this might raise the cost, the benefits in the appearance of the furnishings can be easily worth the increased money|extra money.
Tip 5. You should look for pieces of furniture that are very comfortable. There seems to be a common belief that metal furniture is completely uncomfortable and this is often not the case. Good pieces of furniture that have been well constructed design and are of good quality can be often as comfortable as other pieces of furniture. There is no reason why aluminium furniture should not be comfy. If you have not found seating that are as comfy as you would like, keep looking as you will find some perfect seating|exactly what you need within the budget. It simply takes is a bit of searching. Remember, this comes back to customers that are comfortable in the environment are much more likely to stay , spend more money per time they visit, and more often than not visit much more often. All of this means much more money will be generated from a purchase that was going to be made regardless, so why not gain the biggest result possible from the purchase?
5 Tips For A Better Business Plan
If you have never written a business plan before, you may have difficulty getting the project started. It will seem as though you have an awful lot of blank pages staring back at you. But don’t worry use these tips and you’ll get your business plan on the fast track.
1. To get the plan moving, start with the section that is easiest for you, or of most interest. If you are enthused about the technical superiority of your product, write the product attributes section first. If marketing is your forte, then work on promotion. Many people like to start by writing the history of the company, or how they got the original vision to start the business (possibly because most people enjoy talking about themselves). When you begin to see words on the page, you will get a feeling of making progress, and then you can proceed to the more difficult parts of the plan with less trepidation.
2. People often underestimate the effort and energy it takes to write a business plan. They try to write it at night or when everything else at work is finished, in other words, when they are mentally and sometimes physically exhausted. A better approach is to write the plan when you have energy available to put into it: go in early and think and write for an hour before the phones start ringing.
3. Business plans are essentially works of fiction–documents that talk about what you imagine or hope may occur in the future, not what has already occurred. This type of writing is difficult for everyone. You’ve heard of “writer’s block”. The problems you are having keeping the words flowing are precisely the ones faced by the great writers, except many of them have to keep going because the publisher has given them a unreachable deadline and they’ve already spent their advance, but you of course, have allowed plenty of time to finish the Business Plan–so there’s no reason to feel pressured. Right?
If you feel blocked, don’t worry. It’s all part of the process. The key is not to quit. Put a few words down on the paper, then a few more. Jot down concepts rather than trying to do complete sentences.
4. You may think the first draft of your plan will undoubtedly resemble incoherent ramblings–jumbled stream-of-semi-consciousness ideas that look nothing like what you had hoped it would. Don’t be disappointed or frustrated. Just put the draft away for a few days, come back to it fresh, and begin revising and rewriting. Magically, after several more revisions, the ideas will all come together and the language of the plan will flow.
5. A good mental exercise to use when writing the Plan is to imagine that you are telling the story of your company to a good friend. Don’t get too wrapped up in the formality of the language, or the seriousness of the project, or the need to impress. Just talk. Express your hopes and dreams for the business. Why it is important to you personally to succeed.
